About the role:

As a Data Engineer you will join an established team within OptumRx within our Network Pricing Analytics Team . You will have the opportunity work to with data from across our RX business, giving a unique opportunity to generate insights from the performance of individual contract line items up to overall book of business margin opportunities.

Within the role, you will build and maintain data pipelines across many OptumRx functions. We are looking for someone with a quantitative mindset, a strong aptitude for complex problem solving, strong communication and technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build Data pipelines to track the drug spend 3000 plus contracts.
  • Process optimisation of existing ETL’s, including transition to Microsoft Azure
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to derive additional data requirements to better achieve our contractual targets and meet emerging customer needs.
  • Build relationships with related functions to ensure clear, two-way communications channel.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Innovating new tools or processes to leverage existing data to improve our offering, cross functionally

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Analytical / ETL roles or similar. (e.g. business analysis, data analytics, data science)
  • Experience with any of the following: SQL (required), Python (preferred), or R
  • Proven ability to work well and collaboratively, with multiple teams or departments for business growth or profitability goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex analytic results into meaningful insight, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand.
  • The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin or Letterkenny office is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering)
  • Experience in managed health care or pharmacy benefit management
  • Experience in SQL or similar,
  • Experience in Tableau or similar,
  • Experience in MS Azure would be beneficial.
